Welcome to my website here, you will experience the beauty of glass through my creations. Each piece tells a unique story, capturing moments of inspiration.

I’m Enrico Battan, a glass artist and designer whose work explores memory, erosion, and the quiet architectures of human experience. I create kiln-formed, fused, and cold-worked glass pieces that sit between sculpture and design objects that hold fragments of time, place, and personal history.

My practice is shaped by the landscapes that surround and ground me: the coastlines of Hawai‘i, the ruins of Italy, and the shifting topographies of the mind. I work with glass as a material of permanence and fragility, using layering, casting, and surface manipulation to build pieces that feel uncovered rather than constructed remnants of lived memory and intimate traces of the past.

I earned my MFA in Sculpture from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where I also supervised studios and worked across wood, metal, ceramic, and glass facilities. My approach blends technical rigor kiln schedules, mold making, digital fabrication, and experimental print-on-glass techniques with a quiet, narrative sensitivity.

Alongside my sculptural work, I design functional and decorative glass objects that merge traditional craft with a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Whether sculptural or utilitarian, each piece is made with intention: to hold space, spark memory, and invite reflection.
